Chad Ostrowski first got interested in answering obscure questions about music, geography and other topics when he was 15 and saw a TV program about the world's largest trivia contest.

Somehow, he found himself interested in participating in the 54-hour contest that began Friday night and will continue through today.

"It activated the nerd in me," said Ostrowski, 37, of Stevens Point. "I suddenly had this thirst for knowledge." ...
