UWMC's student newspaper The Forum celebrates its 50th anniversary

In the last five decades, the student newspaper of the University of Wisconsin Marathon County has offered students and the community a mixed bag of journalism.

The Forum has been at times irreverent, unrefined and downright profane, as editors exercised their First Amendment rights of a free press and free speech. Critics through the years have charged it with being sensationalistic, in poor taste and harmful to the school's image. Supporters say that it has helped students become more informed and engaged.
