A Northwoods economic development group has received a grant to help explore broadband solutions.
Grow North, a volunteer organization dedicated to promoting economic development in five northern Wisconsin counties, won a $2,000 AT&T Innovation and Investment Award to support the group's efforts to increase broadband access in the Northwoods.
Grow North serves Forest, Langlade, Lincoln, Oneida and Vilas counties. Grow North leaders announced the grant at the organization's annual research summit, held March 21 in Tomahawk.

The Wausau Area Hmong Mutual Association will wrap up the 10th annual Hmong Heritage Month Saturday with its annual banquet, held at the Hoyt Student Center at Northcentral Technical College, 1000 W. Campus Drive. Doors open at 4:30 p.m., and music and entertainment will begin at 5 p.m. Dinner will follow. Tickets are $15 for adults, $10 for students with a vaild ID and $5 for children ages 10 and younger; tickets are available at the door.

Hodag Hops & Vines, an event that allows people to sample beverages from more than a dozen breweries and wineries, as well as hors d'oeuvres from various local restaurants, is back in Rhinelander by popular demand. The event will be held from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Saturday at the Elbo Room Lounge and Ballroom, 17 N. Brown St., Rhinelander. Detours & delays
Location: Interstate 39 between Mosinee and Stevens Point
Schedule: Present through mid-August
Cost: $3.1 million
Traffic impact: Crews are improving three bridges along I-39, at Highway C, the Highway 34 interchange and Locker Road. Drivers should expect to encounter single lane closures and speed reductions.
An I-39 northbound lane at Highway C and a southbound lane at Locker Road will be closed through Monday. Highway 34 at the interchange with I-39 is reduced to one northbound lane; there will be no southbound access over the bridge until early July.
