Jennifer Ferris' greatest joy in life is finding ways to help others.

A nursing assistant at Aspirus Comfort Care and Hospice, Ferris, 55, of Edgar spends her days giving comfort to people who are struggling with life-ending illnesses, and the family members who love them.

Her career was inspired by her mother-in-law, Kathleen Ferris, who passed away in 2003 under hospice care. Jennifer is instrumental in planning the annual Run for Hospice, an event held in memory of Kathleen Ferris; this year's event is planned for May 10.
