April 22, 1898 - Annual meeting: The adjourned Annual meeting of the A.G. Wells Co. was held Tuesday, the business of the old stockholders having been closed up Monday and the stock having been transferred in the meantime. The new stockholders of the company are: A.G. Wells, Mitchell Joannes, Thomas Joannes, Charles Joannes and W.H. Fowler, who also constitute the board of directors. The newly elected officers are: President, A.G. Wells; vice-president, Mitchell Joannes; secretary, W.H. Fowler; treasurer, Thomas Joannes. The stockholders of the Joannes Bros. Co. and the A.G. Wells Co. are the same persons, but the latter organization will be maintained to conduct the firm's business in this city.

The new stockholders of The A.G. Wells Co. are very much pleased with the company's interests here in the way of sites and shipping facilities, and some new enterprise that will prove of benefit to our city may be confidently looked for.
