Building smiles: Build-A-Bike event a treat for Boys & Girls Club kids

The consensus opinion from the kids was they like watching the wheels spin. For the volunteers and staff of the Sheboygan County Boys & Girls Club, it was seeing the kids smile.

Fifty kids from the Boys & Girls Club received bikes of their own during Saturday's Build-A-Bike event at Road America.

"For a lot of these kids, this is their first bike," Robert O'Hara, executive director of the club, said. "I remember I tried to convince my dad to let me buy a bike when I was like 10 years old and he told me I couldn't. This would make my day if I was one of these kids." ...
