A $315,000 neighborhood park will be built on Wausau's west side next year alongside Athletic Park baseball field, which is slated to get a $2.7 million facelift later this year.

The city's Parks and Recreation Committee hammered over the details of a lease agreement with the Wisconsin Woodchucks' owner Monday during a special meeting. The collegiate-level baseball team's owner Mark Macdonald, who last week announced his plans to finance a stadium rebuild and help create a neighborhood park, will contribute $20,000 and two homes for the neighborhood park project.
