Almost a third of Green Bay students tested in reading and 40 percent tested in math performed at a proficient or better level, according to results released Tuesday by the state.

A breakdown of Wisconsin Knowledge and Concepts Examination scores from November shows 3.8 percent of students in the Green Bay School District who took the standardized test were advanced in reading, 23.5 percent were proficient and 36.3 percent performed at a basic level. In math, 7.6 percent of students performed at an advanced level, 30.5 percent were proficient and 39.2 percent performed at a basic level.
