Grand opening will celebrate completion of De Pere's Riverwalk

After four years of planning and construction, the city's Riverwalk and Wildlife Viewing Pier is complete.

The attraction is now open to the public for the season, and the city plans to celebrate the project's completion with a grand opening celebration May 4. The final portion of the project, a fishing pier, was finished last month. A wildlife viewing pier was unveiled in January. The city spent $1.2 million on both piers.

The downtown venue stretches from Voyageur Park to Government Island on the east side of the Fox River and recently was re-opened for the public. ...
