Music performances

RIPON - Chelsea Gawlik of Greenwood, a sophomore music major at Ripon College, performed in the spring Symphonic Wind Ensemble on April 14.

MENOMONIE - Joseph Saucerman of Marshfield, a manufacturing engineering major, performed in the recent spring musical, "Spring Awakening: A Rock Musical," at the University of Wisconsin-Stout, Menomonie.

ST. PAUL, Minn. - Northwestern College has announced Erik Holm of Marshfield will participate in the Northwestern College Symphonic Band 2013 American Soundscapes Ireland Tour. The Symphonic Band will perform a special Bon Voyage concert before embarking on their tour on May 22 to June 2 to Dublin, Limerick, Cork, Waterford (Ireland), Carryduff and Downpatrick (Northern Ireland).

Student honors

EAU CLAIRE - The winners of the 56th annual Juried Student Art Show at the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire have been announced. Honorable mention went to senior Kelsey Temanson of Stratford for "Anatomical Series: Foot and Spine," an illustration. Scholarships were awarded to: Kelsey Temanson, Stratford, Tom Grewe Fine Arts Scholarship; sophomore Matthew Zuelke, Stratford, Randolph Koelsch Art Scholarship.

Scholarship recipients

Felker Brothers Corp. Scholarship Committee selected the following seven recipients to receive scholarships. This year $500 scholarships were awarded to three individuals in the high school category and four individuals in the college category. The recipients are:

High school: Allison Paitel, daughter of Tim and Kim Paitel of Wisconsin Rapids; Brandon Spindler, son of Tim and Marci Spindler, Auburndale; and Rebecca Willfahrt, daughter of Greg and Carol Willfahrt, Arpin.

College: Torin Boernke, son of Keith and Michelle Boernke, Marshfield; Leah Craft, daughter of Ken and Cindy Craft, Pittsville; Michael Iwanski, son of Tom and Anne Iwanski, Marshfield; and Jacob Lisiecki, son of Joe and Jolie Lisiecki, Marshfield.
