Pittsville student wins essay contest

Pittsville High School junior Serena Conville, daughter of Michelle Quinnell, was the grade 11 winner in the Wisconsin Trooper's Association Essay Contest.

This year's essay theme was "Traveling in Wisconsin-Going Places by Land, Water, or Air." Serena will be presented a check for $125 for her essay titled "Summertime Trails in Wisconsin" at the statewide ceremony at the Kalahari Resort in Wisconsin Dells on May 4. Serena is in Sarah Freedlund's Advanced Placement Language and Composition class.

The Wisconsin Troopers Association has a very proud tradition of supporting the community through education and involvement. WTA represents the members and officers of the Wisconsin State Patrol.
