West girls track wins title

PORTAGE - Hailey Deschaine won the 100 - and 300 meter hurdles, the 200 and the long jump to lead a dominant performance by the Wausau West girls track team in its first outdoor meet of the season Tuesday as the Warriors finished first among eight teams in the Badger Challenge.

Deschaine was among the seven individual events and two relays that the Warriors - who finished with 191.50 point - won. Marissa Matushak won the 1,600 and was part of West's winning 1,600 and 3,200 relay teams. Michelle Brandt and Katy Cihlar won the shot put and discus, respectively.
