Everyone has a story.

When Ann Pickett, fourth-grade teacher at Port Edwards Elementary School, took a class last summer at the Kickapoo Valley Reserve, she heard stories from people who were kicked off farms that had been home to their families for generations because the government wanted to build a dam.

"And I felt those stories, and it made me think of Port Edwards, and I thought the people in Port Edwards have that same story - how the paper mill impacted our community and what it did when it closed the doors." ...
