Fuller leads UWGB at Butler invite

Cam Fuller tied for third place to help lead the University of Wisconsin-Green Bay men's golf team to the championship of the Butler Spring Invitational last Friday at Prestwick Country Club in Avon, Ind.

Fuller, a senior from Sevastopol, shot a 74 with the tournament shortened to one round because of rain.

Fuller and the Phoenix are playing in the Horizon League Conference Tournament starting Friday in Orlando, Fla. Fuller was runner-up in this event last year.

Gibraltar places 18th at state tournament

Gibraltar's eighth-grade girls basketball team placed 18th in Division 4/5 earlier this month at the Wisconsin State Invitational Championship Tournament.

The Vikings finished 2-4, with wins over Prentice (29-20) and Cambridge (35-29). They lost to McDonell Central (36-27), Shiocton (41-9), Oconto (38-31) and Westby (34-17).

Alpine Golf Course opening Saturday

The White Nine at the 36-hole Alpine Golf Course in Egg Harbor is opening for play Saturday, according to owner Bill Bertschinger.
