Outagamie airport officials report no travel delays

Appleton resident Quinn Phillips stowed a few items into his backpack Wednesday morning as he prepared to head through security at Outagamie County Regional Airport to await his flight.

Phillips knows that thousands of federal air traffic controllers were forced into mandatory furloughs this week because of budget cuts, which could mean lengthy travel delays. But he was optimistic his flight to Orange County, Calif., would depart on time.

"I probably should have prepared myself better (for potential delays) but I'm about as prepared as I can be as far as the situation is concerned," said ...
