Brown Co. air quality gets mixed reviews

There is good news and bad news for Brown County in a report from the American Lung Association.

The county's ozone levels received a passing grade, ranking Brown County among the cleanest in the country. But due to levels of short-term particle pollution, the county was named the 17th most polluted nationwide.

Even so, state Department of Natural Resources officials say the air quality is fine. Grant Hetherington, air monitor data manager for the DNR, said the American Lung Association's report "tells quite a different story" than a department report released early this week. ...
