10 YEARS AGO: First Presbyterian Church, Arpin, will host a Mother/Daughter Banquet. The banquet will have a Hawaiian theme.

The Marshfield Convention and Visitors Bureau and the Marshfield Lions Club have proclaimed May 6 as Tourism Appreciation Day featuring a Community Hospitality Award. Citizens may nominate people they think do an exceptional job in hospitality.

25 YEARS AGO: The 25th annual Marshfield Art Fair will be May 8. The works of 105 selected exhibitors will be on display and available for purchase.

50 YEARS AGO: One-hundred-twenty-five Marshfield area youths participated in the kite flying contest at the fairgrounds. A brisk April wind boosted the varied kites high into the air at the event, sponsored by the United Commercial Travelers.

75 YEARS AGO: Representatives from five neighboring towns met in the Owen City Hall to draw up plans for organizing the Cloverbelt league for the 1938 season. The representatives were A. Wiendenhoft, Colby; Bert Gerhart, Neillsville; James Barager, Owen; G. Huls, Thorp; and G. Williamson, Cornell.
