Oshkosh students outperform state test scores

Far fewer Oshkosh public school students scored at proficient or advanced levels in math and reading this year, but that's not because of any major changes in their ability.

Area students continue to outperform their peers across the state in math and score about the same in reading, according to standardized test scores released Tuesday.

State officials raised the bar this year for what is considered proficient on the Wisconsin Knowledge and Concept Exam. As a result, 57.5 percent of Oshkosh students who took the test last fall scored at proficient or advanced levels in math. That's almost ...
