Sandy Duckett named as head of WEP Inc.

The board of directors of WEP Inc. on Thursday announced the hiring of Sandy Duckett as its new chief executive officer who will take over the duties of retiring CEO Mavis Arnold on May 7.

Duckett has served in numerous leadership roles in Northeastern Wisconsin in education, economic development and nonprofit work. Her most recent position was as vice president of college advancement at Northeast Wisconsin Technical College and chief operating officer of the NWTC Educational Foundation Inc.

She has served on many community boards, including the United Way of Brown County, YMCA, Green Bay Area Chamber of Commerce Public Policy Committee and the NEW North Marketing Committee.

Duckett is a graduate of Silver Lake College with a Bachelor of Science in business administration and master's degree in business and organizational development, and she is certified in downtown and community development.

WEP Inc. is a nonprofit organization based in Sturgeon Bay that provides services to residents and businesses of Northeast Wisconsin by providing opportunities in the area of employment, energy conservation, and home improvement, with programs that serve Door, Kewaunee and Brown counties.

"I am thrilled to be joining this fine organization and its talented staff which provides employment and home energy services to individuals and families," Duckett said in the news release announcing her appointment. "I look forward to working with the staff, the Board of Directors, and Community leaders to ensure we are meeting the needs of individuals and the communities of Door, Kewaunee and Brown counties."
