The Nuclear Regulatory Commission had answers to questions about Kewaunee Power Station shutdown and decommissioning Wednesday, but they mostly were not the answers people wanted to hear.

A public meeting to discuss the decommissioning of the nuclear power plant overfilled the Kewaunee City Council chambers Wednesday. NRC staff was there to talk about safety, but citizens wanted to talk about that and a lot more.

The length of time it will take to return the 900-acre site to the county for redevelopment, costs to local government and the length of time nuclear fuel will be stored on site ...
