"Together in Song" is a celebration of the 40th anniversary of Wausau Lyric Choir as the group presents its spring concert this weekend at First Presbyterian Church, 406 Grant St.

The concert will feature the quintet, Festival Brass Ensemble, and percussionists along with piano accompaniment. Current choir members were able to vote on their favorite pieces from past years and those will make up a good part of the concert.

Three former directors will be attending, including the founding conductor Lowell Larson, Phil Buch, and Larry Brandenburg. Former members of the choir will join to sing the last piece.

A concert highlight by American composer Gweneth Walker, "Together in Song" is a selection of traditional spirituals for chorus, piano, brass quintet, and percussion.

Show times are 7:30 p.m. Saturday and 3 p.m. Sunday.

Tickets are available at the door, or from choir members or at the Performing Arts Foundation, 401 Fourth St. Seats cost $12 for adults or $10 for students and seniors.
