Unemployment rates down for Marathon, Lincoln counties

Marathon County lost about 700 jobs between March 2012 and March 2013 even as the unemployment rate decreased by 0.2 percent over the same time period, according to statistics released Wednesday by the Wisconsin Department of Workforce Development.

Wausau, at 10.2 percent unemployment, has the fourth-highest unemployment rate of Wisconsin cities with populations of 25,000 or greater. Only Racine, Beloit and Milwaukee had higher unemployment rates.
