The Campus Community Players at the University of Wisconsin-Marshfield/Wood County has announced auditions for Harvey Schmidt and Tom Jones' "The Fantasticks" at 6 p.m. Tuesday and Wednesday.

The longest running musical in history, "The Fantasticks" is a classic tale of love between a boy and a girl. In this age-old story, "Using just the bare essentials, the author and composer have managed to bring to life a funny and quite touching story of innocence - and of knowledge."

The auditions will be held at the Helen Connor Laird Theatre. Those auditioning need only attend one of the two sessions. Rehearsals will begin shortly thereafter, with performances taking place June 20 to 22.

Those who audition are asked to perform two to three minutes of a song. No accompaniment will be provided, but auditioners may provide their own recorded accompaniment. A CD player will be available. Any questions regarding the audition may be directed to Damian Ernest, professor of theater, at damian.ernest@uwc.edu, or call 715-389-6543.
