County fights weather to get parks ready (with video)

Gary Speckmann said he's never seen anything like the weather over the past couple of months in his 21 years as Portage County parks director.

Snow and cold weather has left Speckmann and his department with precious little time to get county parks up and running in time for the spring and summer seasons. Many of the campgrounds open May 1, and Speckmann said they still have a full list of duties to complete.
