Sturgeon Bay: Second brush pickup planned

Due to the "unspringlike" weather, the city of Sturgeon Bay will have an additional curbside brush collection starting May 6.

Residents are to have all brush placed at the curb no later than 7 a.m. that Monday as Street Department crews will only make one pass through the city. Once a residence is passed, that will be the last collection.

Brush must be cut into 6-foot lengths or smaller and placed parallel to the curb. Do not block sidewalk access when placing the brush out for collection.

The city does not collect leaves and grass clippings in the spring. These items may be brought to the municipal compost site on Division Road. The compost site is open seven days a week and is free for city residents for disposal of leaves, grass clippings and other garden waste. For more information, call (920) 746-2912.
