Architecture

? Architect David G. Peterson of Eau Claire has been elected the 2013 president of AIA Wisconsin, the state society of The American Institute of Architects. Peterson is a consultant and board director with Lien & Peterson Architects, Eau Claire.

Other AIA Wisconsin officers for 2013 are Jody Andres, Neenah, vice president/president-elect; Melissa Destree, Oregon, secretary/treasurer; and Henry Kosarzycki, Greendale, immediate past president. Directors-at-large are Daryl Dean, Rhinelander; Gregory Granlund, Eau Claire; Paul Martzke, Green Bay; James Otto, Hubertus; and Walter Wilson, Glendale.

AIA Wisconsin is the Madison-based statewide component of The American Institute of Architects, the nation's oldest and largest professional organization of architects.

AIA Wisconsin has four local chapters. Chapter presidents for 2013 are Heather Cook Elliott, Shorewood, AIA Milwaukee; Richard Lundeen, Madison, AIA Southwest Wisconsin; Gregory Douglas, Green Bay, AIA Northeast Wisconsin; and Mark Piquette, Weston, AIA Northwest Wisconsin. Piquette is an architect-structural designer with Wausau Homes.

AIA Wisconsin is a 1,300-member state society of the AIA, representing architects in private practice, business, industry, government and education.

Finance

? Brett Thompson, president and CEO of the Wisconsin Credit Union League, announced the retirement of Ginger Larson and appointment of Kim Santos as the new director of the Office of Credit Unions.

? Bank-A-Count Corp., Rudolph, welcomes two new employees to its growing information technology department. Additions to staff include Michael Prescher, who joined the company this past fall as a Web developer/designer, and Robert Allen Jr., who began employment in February as web designer.

Bank-A-Count Corp. is a leading national digital printer of checks, payment coupons, statements and other related products.

Landscaping

Robert Schulz, president and CEO of Outdoor Enterprises Inc., a Schofield landscaping firm, on April 4 attended the Landscape Academy sponsored by County Materials. Also in attendance were Rick Gebhardt and Scott Arambel, who are Outdoor Enterprises' top two landscape technicians.

Law

Jeffrey A. Hertz, a partner in the law firm of Mallery & Zimmerman S.C., announced that Mallery & Zimmerman has been named to the 2013 "Best Law Firms" rankings. The firm received a Tier 1 Metropolitan Ranking in the area of Family Law.

The firm has offices in Wausau, Green Bay, Milwaukee, Mosinee and Stevens Point.

Hertz also has been selected by his peers to be included in the Best Lawyers in America for the third consecutive year. Hertz has practiced law for more than 34 years and concentrates his practice on divorce, adoption and related areas of family law.

Manufacturing

Wilson-Hurd Manufacturing Co. in Wausau was recognized as a Top 5 Finalist in the 2012 Supplier Enabled Innovation Program by Johnson & Johnson. The SEI Program was created in 2010 to allow Johnson & Johnson companies to leverage the knowledge and unique abilities of supplier partners to drive innovative solutions that will improve the lives of the patients they serve.

Animas Corp., a division of Johnson & Johnson making subcutaneous insulin delivery systems, nominated the Keypad Redesign Project as one of about 800 projects from across Johnson & Johnson for consideration in the SEI Program. Of these projects, five were selected as finalists, and the Wilson-Hurd keypad continuous improvement project was one of the top five nominees, bringing a vastly enhanced keypad design and robust manufacturing process.

Sales

EO Johnson Office Technologies has received a Top 9 Performance Award from Square 9 for 2012. EO Johnson is one of nine resale dealers nationally to receive the award. Square 9 Softworks is a leading developer of innovative, business-centric software solutions.

Performance award recipients were selected from hundreds of technology partners within Square 9 Softworks' North American Reseller Channel who exemplified their commitment to a solution-sales based approach. The awards are based on sales volume, a focus on solving customer business issues relating to document management, creative use of technology, outside-of-the-box thinking, and a strong commitment to developing product expertise. This is the second consecutive year EO Johnson has received the award.

EO Johnson Office Technologies is a leading distributor of print/document equipment, document management systems, IT network services, and pure drinking water systems. It has offices in Wausau, Eau Claire and La Crosse; as well as Rochester, Minn., and Cedar Falls, Iowa.
