Ripon College presents POPS concert May 1

The Ripon College Symphonic Wind Ensemble and Jazz Ensemble will perform a POPS concert at 5 p.m. Wednesday, May 1. The players will perform from the porch of Harwood Union, and there is no charge.

The concert will feature the Symphonic Wind Ensemble and Jazz Ensemble. Wind Ensemble, in addition to being conducted by Professor of Music Kurt Dietrich, will be led by senior student conductors Amy Doefer of Green Bay, Wis., and Bill Heinze of West Chicago, Ill., as well as special alumni student Andy Schulz of Ripon.

Selections will include light favorites by Sousa, Grainger and Offenbach, as well as highlights from the Broadway and film hit "Les Miserables." Jazz Ensemble play selections from its April 26 formal concert and some surprise selections.

Sodexo Food Service will serve a cookout during and after the concert on the union lawn. There will be a charge for the meal.
