For more than a decade, Henry Golde has shared his experiences as a survivor of the Holocaust. He is the author of Ragdolls in which he tells that when he was eleven years old, he was taken and held prisoner for five years in nine different concentration camps. The horrors of Hitler are described from the perspective of a child-making his story a powerful one-about what extreme hate and prejudice can do. Mr. Golde will be speaking at the Campbellsport Public Library on Monday, May 13th at 6:30 pm. This is a presentation that you will not forget. This is a free program. Registration is not required. Light refreshments will be served.

Children of all ages are invited to read at the Library in order to pay off fines on their Campbellsport Public Library card. The child should come to the counter and let a librarian know they are there to read to pay off their fines. For every 15 minutes of reading the child does in the Library, 50 cents of the fine on the child's library card will be cleared. The child can read anything they want to as long as a staff member can see them diligently reading.

Beginning readers are invited to the Campbellsport Public Library on Monday, May 13 in the evening to read to the therapy dogs Taz or MayRoo. It is necessary to register for this program. Please call 533 - 8534 to sign your child up to read for 15 minutes to one of these special dogs.

The Roaming Readers Walking Club will be meeting every Friday at 8 a.m. at the Campbellsport Public Library. The group will walk for approximately 30 on the Village's sidewalks. Anyone is welcome to join us for some fresh air and exercise. This is free weekly drop-in program.

During May the Library will be screening three free movies. On Monday, May 20 at 1 and 5:30 p.m. we will be showing The Impossible staring Watts and Ewan McGregor. On Tuesday, May 21 at 4 p.m. we will be showing the film Beautiful Creatures which is based on a popular young adult book by Kami Garcia. On Wednesday, May 22 at 4 p.m. we will be screening the family classic The Absent Minded Professor starring Fred MacMurray.

The Campbellsport Public Library is collecting donations of old chairs throughout the month of May for our hand painted chair fundraiser. Donations can be dropped off anytime the Library is open.
