Derek is out, and Maks is in.

At least in Sheboygan County, not on "Dancing With the Stars.''

Maksim Chmerkovskiy will replace Derek Hough at the Movers & Shakers Gala May 18 at Lakeland College in Sheboygan County. Hough had to bow out of the fundraiser for Lakeland College, the Sheboygan Symphony Orchestra and several local organizations, because he and his "DWTS'' partner Kellie Pickler are still in the running to make the finals, which air two days after the gala.

The Ukranian-born Chmerkovskiy, a favorite with female viewers of "DWTS'' but not always with judge Len Goodman, is sitting out the current season of the ABC show. He's appearing on "General Hospital.''

He'll be joined by Chelsie Hightower, also of "DWTS,'' as a special guest at the gala. For more info on the event, including a limited number of $750 tickets to sit at a table with Chmerkovskiy, go to www.moversandshakersgala.org.
