Central Wisconsin Cooperative is building a new grain facility in Auburndale to accommodate the growing grain storage needs of local farmers, said Frank Brenner, CEO and general manager of the cooperative.

Joseph Fuchs, chairman of the CWC board of directors, said central Wisconsin experienced a grain deficit about 12 years ago but now has a grain surplus because improvements in seed biogenetics have increased corn and soybean yield.

Farmers' ability to feed livestock more efficiently also has contributed to the grain surplus, Fuchs added. ...
