The Green Bay Packers made their first move to bolster their secondary with the selection of Iowa cornerback Micah Hyde with the 159th selection in the fifth round.

Hyde (5-11, 197) became the 67th player in Hawkeyes history to record over 200 career tackles with his seven tackles in a win at Michigan State. He totaled 240 career tackles to tie for 34th on the career chart.

He played in 49 career games at Iowa with 229 tackles (5 for a loss), four forced fumbles and seven interceptions (four as a sophomore, three as a junior). He also has experience as a punt returner.

He was the Tatum-Woodson defensive back of the year in the Big 10 after starting all 12 games to finish with 38 consecutive starts over the final three seasons.

Hyde was arrested for public intoxication and interference with official acts last October.

Quote: Im a versatile player, I can play multiple positions and I know special teams is wide open and I can definitely do that. I just think Im a smart player and I fell a have a real knack for the game.
