The annual Great Strides 5K Walk for cystic fibrosis will be held May 19 at Pfiffner Pioneer Park. Check-in and registration begin at 1 p.m. at the Pfiffner Building, and the walk will start at 2 p.m. along the Wisconsin River. Lunch will be served at 2:45 p.m., followed by a basket raffle at 3 p.m.

Cystic fibrosis is a genetic condition that affects the functioning of both the digestive and respiratory systems, and those diagnosed with it must be vigilantly treated every day of their lives.

Proceeds from the walk benefit the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation and are used for treatment and research. For more information or to register yourself or a team, go to http://greatstrides.cff.org.
