Who would doubt the long march of progress in Oshkosh this week?

Ribbons will be cut, speeches will be made and a mission accomplished banner may as well be hoisted on North Main Street to celebrate the re-opening of the downtown hotel, renamed the Oshkosh Premiere Waterfront Hotel & Convention Center. Beyond the hotel, enough projects are coming to fruition this year to make the biggest civic boosters bustle with pride and pooh-pooh the notion of any storm clouds on the horizon.
