In baseball, you can't be satisfied with a lead. Anything can happen.

The Fond du Lac baseball team learned that the hard way in Monday's conference game against Appleton East, as the Cardinals blew a 7-2 lead in the fifth and fell to the visiting Patriots 9-7.

Everything was looking great for the Cardinals up until the top half of the fifth inning. They held a 7-2 lead and had the first two of three batters retired to start the inning, but then with one on, the Patriots racked up three consecutive singles, a walk and then two more singles to take an 8-7 lead. ...
