Marian softball splits doubleheader with Wisconsin Lutheran

The Marian softball team split a doubleheader with Wisconsin Lutheran at home on Monday, falling 7-5 in game one but then won 10-2 in five innings in game two.

Emily Gorged moved to 9-17 on the season after pitching both games. In game one she was rocked in eight innings, allowing seven runs on 13 hits, with three of those runs coming in the final inning.

Nikki Jakel led the way with a 1-for-5 performance with an RBI and a double. Emily Gorges went 2-for-4 for the Sabres.

In game two, Gorged responded with a dominant outing, going five innings while only allowing one run on two hits. She had six strikeouts.

Gorges led the way offensively with a 2-for-3 performance including three RBIs and a double. Emilie Jansen added a 2-for-4 day with two RBIs.
