Lomira softball tops Springs on walk-off error

With two outs in the bottom of the seventh inning, Lomira softball senior Casey Nickel hit a hard grounder to third and a St. Mary's Springs' error allowed junior Paige Bartelt to score from third for the winning run in an 8-7 Lions' victory.

Lomira built a 7-2 lead and then watched it evaporate as the Ledgers scored four runs in the top of the fourth and one in the sixth to tie it.

"It was a struggle in the middle, but we battled back nicely," Lions coach Stacey Epping said. ...
