LETTER: 'Marriage is not a same-sex plan'

Only the beautiful mind of God can claim dominion over marriage, uniting men and women under the command to increase and multiply. Marriage is not a same-sex plan, nor is it compatible with the political agenda that considers the Defense of Marriage Act unconstitutional.

Long protected by a uniquely American concept of freedom of religion, marriage is now under attack through a devilishly clever redefining freedom of religion as the freedom to worship. While how one worships is a private matter, freedom of religion is a public concern.

Through this profane rendering unto Caesar of that which belongs to God, a hostile government takeover of marriage becomes just one more step along the grim road to privatizing all religion.

Marriage is God's gift to all of humankind, but love is not justified unless God himself is love. We can become so completely involved in our own self-expression that we can easily dismiss the beautiful right to life for our conceived children. For ugly decades, justice for our children's right to life has been denied them. Now, the right to same-sex marriage will be considered by rogue courts that additionally undermine children's rights by marginalizing their right to have both a father and a mother.

With our children paying the bulk of the tab, America's relentless venture into a radically freer sex ethic continues, having led us from procreation to contraception to Health & Human Service (HHS) insurance mandate and from sex as a part of marriage to marriage as a part of sex.
