April 29, 1957 - Big Dream Comes True as Ewings Launch "Dyna": When Mr. and Mrs. Clayton Ewing of Sunlight Park launched their 58-foot aluminum alloy yawl it was the culmination of a lifelong ambition. It had taken exactly three years for their dreams to crystallize since the original plans were drawn by Sparkman-Stephens, yacht designers of New York.

The boat is the first of its kind to be built in the United States, and will be featured soon in national magazines like Sports Illustrated and Yachting.

The launching took place at the Burger Boat Co. in Manitowoc, where the boat was constructed. Ewing's racing crew, which numbers between 9 and 12 depending on the length of the races, was on hand - along with a number of other close boating friends from Green Bay and out of town.

"Dyna" will compete this summer in most of the classic long-distance races on the Great Lakes, including the Chicago and Mackinac races.
