A groundbreaking for the Gehl-Mulva Science Center at St. Norbert College is scheduled for 1:30 p.m. May 10 on the campus in De Pere.

Lead donors are Carol H. and Paul O. Gehl, and Miriam B. and James J. Mulva.

The project will include renovation of the 50-year-old John Minahan Science Hall and a 57,800-square foot addition. In addition to serving St. Norbert, the building will house the Medical College of Wisconsin's Green Bay campus. The first medical students will be admitted in July 2015.

The event on May 10 is ceremonial. Construction already has begun.

Correction

The Medical College of Wisconsin's Green Bay campus will serve medical students. Earlier versions of this story incorrectly said it would serve nursing students.
