Wausau Paper releases first-quarter loss report

Wausau Paper Corp. reported a first-quarter loss Monday amid an aggressive restructuring plan backed by the company's largest shareholder.

In a news release issued Monday, Wausau Paper announced the company lost $29 million, or 60 cents a share, compared with net income of $9.76 million, or 20 cents, for the same period last year. Sales fell 13 percent to $187.9 million from $216.2 million, according to the report.
