The Door Kewaunee County Business Education Partnership and AT&T Inc. have teamed up to create a grant to support the 2013 DKBEP High School Home Construction Program.

The program launched in 2007 in an effort to grow the local skilled work force while providing real-world learning experiences for area youth.

The two groups made the announcement Tuesday morning at the 2013 home construction site, 4970 Wisconsin 57 in Valmy.

The $1,500 AT&T Investment and Innovation Award will go to Northeast Wisconsin Technical College to support the program.

"We are proud to join AT&T announce this grant to support workforce development initiatives in our community," said state Rep. Garey Bies. "The work that Door Kewaunee Business Education Partnership and its partners do is critical to building a 21st century work force and economy in Northeastern Wisconsin."

"As a company, AT&T is committed to showing our support to our local communities," said Julie Tonkovitz, director of external affairs for AT&T Wisconsin. "We are very proud to join with area community leaders in Northeast Wisconsin to help this organization continue their strong start towards their mission of supporting workforce development efforts in the area."
