On Thompson Street, she is remembered as the ideal neighbor. At the sheriff's office, she was known as "relentless in her support" of domestic violence victims. At her job, she was the "sister" who kept the office together - even if colleagues didn't always share her love of pizza for breakfast.

Friends and colleagues on Tuesday remembered Patricia Waschbisch as a wonderful parent, advocate and co-worker, even as they struggled to accept news that she had been fatally stabbed on Sunday - allegedly by a man with whom she had a sometimes rocky relationship.
