Wrapping up a season that was filled with tension and conflict, the director of Green Bay's downtown emergency homeless shelter is vowing to return next winter.

"I am absolutely not going anywhere," said Alexia Wood, who just completed her first season as director of St. John the Evangelist Homeless Shelter.

The shelter at 411 St. John St. closed for the season Tuesday after serving 423 homeless people with a combined 13,316 overnight stays. ...
