With federal funding for small airport air traffic control towers still in limbo, Winnebago County supervisors will start weighing local options for staffing the tower at the state's third-busiest airport.

Wittman Regional Airport is one of eight in the state that stand to lose funding for control tower staff in June as a result of across-the-board spending cuts at federal agencies, including $637 million that the Federal Aviation Administration was ordered to cut.
