Former Green Bay Packers defensive lineman Esera Tuaolo, who came out as gay in 2002, says he hopes NBA player Jason Collins' coming out will help break down stereotypes.

Tuaolo, 44, played in 20 games for the Packers in 1991 and 1992. He then played for Minnesota, Jacksonville, Atlanta and Carolina. He said he dealt with depression and alcoholism during his nine-year NFL career.
