Keta Steebs may not have been a huge sports fan. I couldn't tell. She rarely talked sports in the 15 years we worked together in the Advocate newsroom. But her impact on the Advocate sports desk should not be underestimated.

One thing I learned quickly was to never underestimate Keta, whose passing Friday marked the end of one of the most colorful chapters in this newspaper's history. The wonderful thing about being a writer is that she'll leave us with an archive of fabulous work.

For those of you who weren't loyal readers of Keta's column, let me just say that her writing was appropriately ...
