Golf: Sturgeon Bay squeaks out one-stroke victory

This one didn't come as easy as the first, but Sturgeon Bay won the second Packerland Conference high school golf meet of the season Thursday at The Woods Golf Course in Green Bay.

The Clippers edged host Northeastern Wisconsin Lutheran by one stroke, 179 to 180, following a 19-stroke victory in the season-opener last week.

"I am happy we were able to grab a one-stroke victory, but we simply were unable to get beyond a few very poorly played holes," said Clippers coach Tony Smith. "We will continue to look for ways to play more consistently as this short season takes shape." ...
