Third Avenue Playhouse has announced that auditions will be held for its StageKids Spring Show, "AlieNation" beginning at 5 p.m. May 2 and 2 p.m. May 5 at the theater, 239 N. Third Ave., Sturgeon Bay.

Parts are available for young actors ages 6-18.

No need to prepare anything - just show up. The audition will consist of theater games and improvisation, so come prepared to move and have fun. Wear comfortable clothing you can easily move around in.

Rehearsals will take place after school from May 20 to May 24. A public performance for family and friends is scheduled for 2 p.m. May 25. To participate, the cast must be available for rehearsals 4-6:30 p.m. May 20-24 and beginning at 11 a.m. May 25.

"AlieNation" is a story about fear of the unfamiliar and acceptance of those who are different as told by humans, their alien neighbors, and a whole lot of foam swimming noodles.

The original play was created and directed by Twin Cities-based actors Brian Sostek and Megan McClelland, otherwise known as Sossy Mechanics, who bring their show "Trick Boxing" to TAP May 17-26.

The cast will work with Brian and Megan over the course of a week rehearsing this crazy, fun, wonderful play that combines physical comedy, improvisation and dance.
