Kewaunee nuclear plant owner fined $70K

Dominion sanctioned for fire drills, record-keeping

The U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission has fined Kewaunee Power Station owner Dominion Resources $70,000 for failing to conduct proper fire drills and falsifying records.

The actions occurred between August 2009 and December 2011 and have been corrected by Dominion, including "actions against the former trainer and the individual's former supervisor," an NRC statement said.

Kewaunee spokesman Mark Kanz said the company conducted an internal audit when the NRC raised the issue. He said corrective actions were taken, including with procedures and processes, "and people got the ...
