Mike Walsh is used to hearing chirps of opposition on city policies and proposals from any number of residents and those on the governing boards.

As for the springtime squawking from the myriad seagulls and geese that have roosted on the shoreline and rocks in the water near the Claude Allouez Bridge, that's been delightful music to the ears of De Pere's longtime mayor.

His partiality with the completed De Pere Riverwalk, which will officially be unveiled during a dedication event Saturday afternoon, lies on the raised concrete platform more than 300 feet out over the Fox River on the far south ...
